What is Safe Mode?

Safe Mode is a boot mode that uses the default settings of your phone to boot. As a result, all the foreign applications that you might have installed simply don’t work in this mode. The factory settings take over and all the mods, crazy looking themes and all the personalization you have done over the year goes waste. That is safe mode, as the name suggests; the phone boots safely without exposing itself to any third-party applications. Developers use this mode for debugging and killing any applications that might prevent your phone from functioning properly.

” When faced with complex situations, look for simple answers”

Without taking the risk of getting too tacky, we would foremost everyone who is facing the issue to restart your phone (long press the power button to restart android phones). But here’s a trick. Try and uninstall the last application you installed before your phone retarded in the Safe Mode. The logic? That very application might be the one to blame. It s always better to play safe. You can always install that application back, to make sure it is not a mere victim of result.

STEP TWO

But all of us are not lucky enough to get our phone back by simply restarting it. For those, who have been attacked by a virus, this issue might persist after step one. But that is what the second step is for. Try this one out.

1- Don’t directly restart your phone but turn it off.

2- Long press and tap the Switch off button to do so.

3- Once off, you have to switch on your phone now. Instead of just pressing the power button, hold power and volume buttons together.

4- Your phone should boot out of the safe mode. Wait for a while and the deed is done.

STEP THREE

Battery and SIM-Card Removal

At times, your phone booting in safe mode might be a result of faulty software of hardware malfunction. But don’t worry about this because we have the solution to this too.Even after you switch off your phone, there is some residual power in it which keeps it up. STEP FOUR

Factory Reset- Start Afresh

For those of us, who have done some serious damage to our phones might not have that simple a path to follow. If the system files have been corrupted to an irreparable extent, it wouldn’t be possible to reduce your phone using the above steps. Factory rest, my friend, might be your only resort. This will kill all your contacts, your favorite applications, your loved messages and will clear the phone memory. So take backup before you follow these steps.

1- Take a backup of your contacts and conversations because this step will wipe all the phone memory off like it never existed.

2- Go to settings again like you did before.

3- Under the settings, you will find backup and reset option. Go inside.

4- There you will find the button that factory resets your phone along with the backup. Choose the backup options and make a backup of every important thing before following the next step. Your to-do-list, important e-mails and everything else.

5- Once you are done with the backups, press the erase everything button and your phone will be as good as new in a matter of seconds.

6- Wait for your phone to boot back, it must be out of the safe mode now. Enjoy.

STEP FIVE

Hard Reset- Feel like a Developer

The factory reset option might not be accessible at times. Booting into the phone is not possible in some situations. But that doesn’t mean your phone isn’t working anymore. Just sit back and follow these steps to bring your phone back to life. Hard Reset generally refers to resetting your phone the developers’way. Yes it sounds exciting, doesn’t it?

Hard reset does an overall wipe out of the phone including the cache and the memory which might not be possible using factory reset. Basically what you are doing is extensive clean up like never before.

1- Turn of your Android device.

2- Booting into Recovery Mode

Recovery mode is that mode of your device where you get access to all the developers’ tools. You can wipe your phone, install new OS, take  a backup of your previous one, wipe out the redundant files and work like a coder.

Booting into the recovery mode can a little tricky because every manufacturer has its own way to do it. But we have that figured out. When your phone is off, try pressing the three keys- power, menu and volume key in different combinations and keep on holding them together. i.e. First try your luck with holding down power and volume keys, if this doesn’t work, try the menu key now. Then work in triplets. A more civilized way of doing this is simply finding out which keys make your phone boot into the recovery mode. Once you find them, go right into the recovery mode.

3- In recovery mode, scroll the Wipe Data option by pressing your volume keys. The power button is used to select that option.

4- When prompted, select yes to erase all user data.

5- Wait until the device resets. After this, select the reboot system now option. You must be back in the normal mode. Happy Android-ing.

 Wrapping it Up

Safe mode is not something that is supposed to hamper your phone’s features, it is there to save your phone from external damages. Hence, to get rid of safe mode properly, the steps one and two might work if your issue is a superficial one. Uninstalling the rogue app will save you a lot of time and energy and you can be careful not to re-install such apps and don’t trust such developers. If that doesn’t  happen, the steps listed at the end of the paragraph are guaranteed working. Follow them and see all your safe mode worries disappear along the safe mode.
