Are you too bored of searching apps and games for your Mac OS, and want all of the amazing Android apps and games on your Mac. Then, you are actually in need of, what we call an ‘Android Emulator’. Emulators have been in the existence since a very long time in form of virtual machine, pieces of software that virtualized any OS on another; like running Linux on Mac or Windows. Similarly, Android is an operating system, for handheld devices though; but it is an OS! Thus it can be virtualized on any other operating system. The same was the idea for the development of ‘Bluestacks’, which is the most popular emulator among Android emulators available today.
Getting Started!
To get started with the emulator, you will firstly need to download it for your Mac. You can get it from the button given below! Once done, configure it to set it up on your working environment. Once it is configured properly, fire it up, and using it is quite simple task, as everything seems to be onscreen and quite figurative. To get started with the Android, you will firstly need to have Google Play access. The intermediate versions of the Bluestacks were found to have a problem with Google Play integration, although now it has been bugged out. In case you are using previous version, download the apk file of the Playstore externally from apk hosting website and install it on Bluestack.
When opened for first time, you will be asked to connect your Google account with the Playstore. You can then create a new ID or can use your existing Google account. You also have access to whole of google play! Virtually, you can get any of the amazing app or game on your Mac system, as you would do on Android device. To do it, just open the Playstore and start searching for your favourite app/game. Playstore works the same here too, so use it as you might have been using on your Android device.
Look and Feel!
The interface of the Bluestack is kept diverse from that of the original Android UI. Interface is touch supported and designed in metro style to have better view and selection capability when using touch devices. At the top-left corner of the screen there is a search button, and you can use this button to search for the app you want to install on your Mac. To right of this button, you can find all the apps that have been already installed in the Bluestack. Besides both of this, app list and search button, you can find all the suggested apps and games.
Multitasking and Performance:
You can run all those high end games, which you might have thought of running on your Android device, but due to lack of RAM and processing speed was unable to feel the awesomeness. It is so because, you will be using your Mac’s hardware components to play those high end games. However, this will readily drain of your Macbook’s battery too. Multitasking is not yet that good, as you will see it hanging when switching between the apps, especially when playing some intense games like Asphalt and NFS.
